Two clients · Named · Permission on file

Pest control SEO case studies, with the real numbers.

Two current clients, two different problems, one data source each. One company needed more phone calls from Google. The other was invisible on the map for the services that make it money. Here is what moved, what did not, and what we actually did.

01 How to read this page

Where the numbers come from.

Every number below comes from the client's own Google Business Profile data or from a geo-grid rank audit — a 13×13 grid of points across the service area, each one checked for where the company ranks in the map pack for a given search.

Phone calls, website clicks, and direction requests are the actions Google records on the profile. The period compared is July 27 to October 27, 2026 against the 90 days before it. Rank audits show the first audit we ran next to the most recent one, with dates on each.

We include the metrics that did not move. If a company's rankings were already strong when we started, we say so instead of taking credit for them.

02 Case study · Pro Defense Pest Control · San Antonio, TX

Pro Defense is a locally owned company serving San Antonio, New Braunfels, and the Texas Hill Country. Rankings were already decent. The profile was not producing calls. We started July 22, 2026.

What we did.

Nothing exotic. The profile had been left alone. We put it to work and kept it consistent everywhere Google checks.

  • Rebuilt categories, services, and service area on the Google Business Profile
  • Posted to the profile two to three times a week, with current photos and video
  • Answered every review, every time, in the owner's voice
  • Pushed the same name, address, phone, and hours to 50+ directories, re-checked weekly
  • Added a standing FAQ set and refreshed it monthly

That is the same work included in every Aura AI Pro plan. There was no ad spend behind any of these numbers.

What did not move.

Map rankings. They were already good when we started, and they are about the same now.

For "pest control" the average grid rank went from 6.28 to 6.70. For "bed bug exterminator" it went from 5.17 to 4.99. That is noise, not progress. The lift in calls came from profile activity and visibility, not from climbing the map. We would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise.

Geo-grid rank heatmap for the search 'pest control' across the Pro Defense Pest Control service area in San Antonio, Texas, dated November 2, 2026. Most grid points show a rank of 1 to 3, with weaker results on the eastern edge.
"pest control" · 13×13 grid across the service area · Nov 2, 2026 · 40% of points in the top 3. Green is good. Red on the eastern edge is downtown San Antonio, where Pro Defense does not have an office.

We are telling you that up front. The numbers are Google's, not ours, and the same program runs for every client on this page.

03 Case study · Semper Fi Pest Management · Maricopa, AZ

From invisible to top 3 across the whole service area.

Semper Fi ranked for "pest control" and almost nothing else. Mosquito, flea, and rodent work — all profitable, all seasonal — did not show up on the map at all. This is Google Business Profile management only. We did not touch the website.

What we did.

The profile was set up for "pest control" and nothing else. We built it out for every service the company actually sells.

  • Added mosquito, flea, rodent, scorpion, and inspection services with real descriptions
  • Weekly posts tied to the season — mosquito in spring, scorpion in summer, rodent in fall
  • Answered every review and used the customer's own words for the service
  • Monthly FAQ refresh on the profile
  • Rank audits every month so we could see which service lines moved

What did not move.

Two things, and both matter.

Calls were steady, not surging: 132 in the prior period, 134 this period. The lifetime number is large because the profile has been producing for 18 months, not because of a spike. And "scorpion exterminator" slipped — top-3 coverage went from 22% to 10%. We are working on it. A page that only showed the wins would not be worth your time.

Side-by-side geo-grid rank heatmaps for the search 'flea treatment' across the Semper Fi Pest Management service area in Maricopa, Arizona. Left, April 30, 2025: mostly red with a few scattered green points. Right, October 23, 2026: almost entirely green with ranks of 1 and 2.
"flea treatment" · left Apr 30, 2025 (avg. 17.43, 5% top 3) · right Oct 23, 2026 (avg. 2.84, 93% top 3).
04 What both have in common

Neither one needed a trick.

Different markets, different problems, same program. The thing that moved the numbers was doing the boring work every week and never skipping it.

Cadence

Weekly, not quarterly

  • Posts, photos, and review replies every week
  • FAQs refreshed monthly
  • Directory data re-checked on a schedule
Coverage

Every service, by name

  • One service entry per thing you sell
  • Seasonal posts timed to when people search
  • Service area set to where the trucks go
Measurement

Grid audits, not guesses

  • 13×13 rank grid per keyword, per month
  • Calls, clicks, and directions from Google, not from us
  • Flat and falling numbers reported alongside the wins

Want to see where your profile stands on the same grid? That is the first thing we run on the free audit call, and you keep the findings whether you hire us or not.

05 Who is not on this page

Why only two

  • We work with eight pest control companies right now
  • Two have a clear before-and-after with permission to be named
  • Three started recently and do not have enough history to be honest about
  • One has flat numbers this quarter, and we are not going to dress that up

What you will not find here

  • Stock photos of technicians who do not work for anyone we know
  • Anonymous quotes from "a pest control owner in Texas"
  • Percentages with no base number behind them
  • A chart with no dates on it
06 Questions about these results
Are these results typical?
No single result is typical, and anyone who says otherwise is guessing. Pro Defense started with strong rankings and a neglected profile, so calls moved fast. Semper Fi started with a profile that only ranked for one service, so coverage moved and calls stayed steady. Where you start decides what moves first. The audit call shows you where you start.
Why is one of your case studies Pro Defense Pest Control?
Because we have close ties with them, and it is the company we have the longest and most detailed history with. We say so on the page rather than hiding it. The numbers come from Google's own profile reporting, and the program is identical to what every other client gets. If you want to see a client with no connection to us, Semper Fi is directly above.
What is a geo-grid rank audit?
A grid of points laid across a service area — here, 13 by 13, so 169 points. At each point we check where the company ranks in Google's map results for a given search, as if a customer were standing there. The result is a heatmap: green where you rank in the top 3, red where you do not appear in the top 20. It shows where you actually win, not just whether you rank from your own office.
Did either client run ads during these periods?
Not through us, and the metrics on this page are organic profile metrics. Phone calls, website clicks, and direction requests here are the actions Google records on the Google Business Profile. Paid call extensions and ad clicks are tracked separately and are not included.
Can I talk to these clients?
Ask on the audit call. Both companies have agreed to be named. Whether an owner takes a reference call depends on their schedule and whether it makes sense for your situation, and we will not promise their time for them.
How long did this take?
Pro Defense: the 90-day numbers are the first 90 days after we started. Semper Fi: the baseline audit is April 30, 2025 and the latest is October 23, 2026, so about 18 months, with most of the rank movement in the first six. Expect early movement on the profile in the first 60 to 90 days. Competitive head terms take longer.

See your own numbers before you decide.

Thirty minutes. We run your profile and your market through the same grid you just looked at, show you who is beating you and why, and you keep the findings either way.
